What it fixes
- Double line spacing on text paragraphs, headings and references (tables are left alone).
- No extra space before or after paragraphs (the title page is left alone).
- Automatic hyphenation turned off.
- With your confirmation: left alignment instead of justified text, and a 0.5 in first-line indent on text paragraphs.
How it works

- They are applied to a copy, which is analysed again. If all is well, you download the copy; your original file does not change.
Limits
- For now it fixes line spacing, paragraph spacing, alignment, first-line indent and hyphenation. Margins, fonts, headings, page numbers and references are checked by the checker and fixed by hand.
- It only touches paragraphs whose role it identifies clearly: it does not change tables, figures, block quotations, lists or locked content.
- It does not format documents with pending tracked changes, protection or a digital signature.
- It checks that the text and content do not change, but it does not replace a review in Word: double spacing can move pages.
- Tested with Microsoft Word documents; files from Google Docs or LibreOffice may behave differently.
Frequently asked questions
Does it change my file?
No. Fixes are applied to a copy in your browser. Your original file does not change and is not uploaded anywhere.
Why do some fixes ask for confirmation?
Because they change how the text looks (alignment, indentation), so you should see which paragraphs they affect before including them.
What if a fix makes something worse?
The copy is analysed again. If a new problem appears, or if any content that must not be touched changed, the download is blocked and you can unselect the fix responsible.
Will my paper be 100% in APA format?
Not necessarily. The formatter fixes specific formatting and shows you what is left. Always check the document in Word before submitting it.
