Open the file in Word or Google Docs and write your paper from page 2. Page numbers are automatic.

What it includes
- Student title page: title, authors, affiliation (department and university), course, instructor and due date, in APA 7 order.
- Professional title page: title, authors with numbered affiliations, an all-caps running head and an author note in the bottom half of the page.
- A bold, centered title about three to four lines below the top margin, with one blank line before the byline.
- 1 in margins, double spacing and an automatic page number in the top-right corner, starting on the title page.
- One of APA 7’s example fonts (Times New Roman 12, Aptos 12, Calibri 11, Arial 11, Georgia 11 or Lucida Sans Unicode 10) on Letter or A4 paper.
How it works
- Choose a student or professional title page and fill in the details. The preview updates as you type.
- Check the title page, pick the font and paper, and press “Download Word”.
- Open the .docx in Word or Google Docs and write your paper from page 2.
Limits
- The preview is approximate: line breaks depend on the fonts on your device. The .docx file is the final reference.
- It follows the general APA 7 standard. It adds no logos or the extra details some universities ask for; if your institution has its own template, follow it.
- On a professional title page, the author note is placed in the bottom half by estimating the available space. With a very long title or note, check its position in Word.
- It does not change the capitalization of your title or translate your text: everything prints as you type it.
- What you type is kept only in this tab and erased when you close it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a student and a professional title page?
A student title page has the course, instructor and due date, and no running head or author note. A professional title page, for manuscripts submitted to a journal, has numbered affiliations, a running head and, when needed, an author note. Use the student version unless your instructor asks otherwise.
Do student papers need a running head?
Not in APA 7, unless your instructor or institution asks for one. The running head is part of professional papers.
Does the title page have a page number?
Yes. Numbering starts on the title page, with page 1 in the top-right corner. The file uses Word’s automatic page numbers.
Which font should I use?
APA 7 asks for a legible font, the same throughout. Its examples are Aptos 12, Calibri 11, Arial 11, Lucida Sans Unicode 10, Times New Roman 12, Georgia 11 and Computer Modern 10, and your word processor’s default font is also fine. You can pick all of them here except Computer Modern, which Word does not include. Aptos comes with Microsoft 365: if your device does not have it, the preview uses a similar font, but the .docx uses Aptos.
How do I write the due date?
In the format commonly used in your country, with the month in words: “November 20, 2026” or “20 November 2026”.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The title page is created in your browser and the file downloads straight to your device. We do not store your name, university or any other detail.
